MonteAltissimo Cabin

We had the pleasure of collaborating with Gap Progetti for the Monte Altissimo Cabin competition in Borno, a design that blends modern architecture with the natural beauty of the mountain landscape. The cabin is positioned at the summit of Monte Altissimo, at the end of a ski lift, offering a serene retreat with panoramic views of the surrounding peaks and valleys.
The design features a striking contemporary concrete shell, whose clean, minimalist lines contrast beautifully with the rugged natural environment. The structure's bold exterior serves as both a protective and sculptural element, seamlessly integrating with the dramatic mountain landscape.

Inside, the cabin is transformed into a warm, inviting space, with carefully crafted wood interiors that bring a sense of comfort and intimacy to the environment. The use of natural materials, such as timber, creates a cozy and earthy atmosphere, providing a perfect contrast to the cool, modern concrete shell. Large windows are strategically placed to maximize the views of the lush green lawn and the vast mountain panorama, allowing natural light to flood the space throughout the day.
The cabin’s design emphasizes a deep connection to nature, offering a tranquil space for relaxation and reflection. The surrounding lawn and natural landscape enhance the experience, providing outdoor areas for enjoyment and exploration.
The project aims to serve not only as a functional space for visitors but also as a sculptural addition to the mountain, harmonizing with its environment while offering a unique, contemporary take on the traditional mountain cabin.
